Slouch Beanie
I made this for my mom and since she never wears it I really wish I had kept it because it is just gorgeous. She can’t figure out how to make it slouch and if it doesn’t slouch, it’s really just a huge hat.

Feeney’s Beanie
This was another project for the recent play I was involved in. It was a very simple hat made for the guy that did our lights and sound. I’m pretty sure he likes it because he’s been wearing it every time I’ve seen him since I gave it to him.

Newsboy Hat
My next hat was for the castmate that played my mom in the most recent play I just did.

I found it pretty easy to follow and made the cap relatively quickly.
What isn’t pictured here is the teal button I added in the middle of the purple flower.
The colors I used were her favorite colors.
Skull and Crossbones Beanie
With my next crochet adventure it was time to make a hat for my castmate Jay and there was no doubt in my mind it had to have a pirate theme. He has a SLIGHT obsession for all things piratical and so I set about finding the best and easiest pattern.
I tried three and this one was the one that I chose.
This was my first try with no video to back it up so it was a bit more difficult than I was used to. There were many frogged efforts but in the end I was able to make the skull and crossbones well enough to make me happy and attached it to a beanie made from the pattern before.

My next endeavor was even more out of my comfort zone. And I apologize that I haven’t been able to find a written pattern on it. It was strictly done via YouTube.
She is a good teacher but I wish she had mentioned which stitches she was using for future reference. I figured them out as she went along but as I am getting used to the names of the stitches and how to use them, I find it easier for a person to just say the name of the stitch and how many times.
Having said that, this is a really good pattern for someone that isn’t really familiar with stitches and doesn’t care to learn, only wants to make a hat.
I made this for the director of the play I was in at the time. It seemed to fit her personality and she really loved it.
The colors I chose where her two favorite colors and the button in the middle of the flower was just one I got at Beverly’s fabrics for cheap. 
Hat With Brim
After my great success with making the beanies I decided to get a bit more daring.
Youtube had become a great friend to me at that point and so after a brief search I found this:

I really fell in love with the simple directions and the slow motion in the videos that she produces. It made it a whole lot easier for this beginner to learn new stitches and get the hang of everything.

The Simple Beanie
My husband is a guitarist. He has a logo for his music with a color scheme and that is black and neon green.
He also practices guitar a lot in our tiny little basement where spiders tend to fall into his hair if he is not wearing a hat.
Enter me, bored at rehearsal with a new found crochet obsession.
